Welcome!

When I started this site, it was going to be a portfolio to aid in job hunting. Now that I’m comfortably settled into a position (in IT Administration / Academic Affairs), it can be something a little more true to me.

Stick around if you’re interested in my eclectic hobbies and maybe you’ll find a secret or two.

I’ve been many things over the years: a writer, a researcher, a designer, a musician, and a cat dad. I’m proud of all of them. That’s why this site is going to be my place to celebrate being all of those things.

If you’re a Sinfonian, you’ll find lots of information on my work with the Fraternity and some resources to help you follow your own pathway. Information about my unofficial Fraternity projects are public, and you might be able to spot some more interesting lore if you know where to click.

If academia is more your speed, you’ll find my papers and presentations in the relevant section. This site isn’t much of a portfolio any more, but I’m proud of that work in particular, and hope you’ll find it interesting, too.

I’ve been an outspoken open source evangelist for years, and my areas of interest therein reach from the philosophical underpinnings of the movement to very specific examples of open source software that – at least to me – make a real difference.

For everything else, you can check the miscellaneous area of my blog, if and when I get around to posting. Above all, enjoy exploring my disparate interests, and feel free to shoot me a message if you’d like to chat about them.

Regards,

David Eltz
